Reabetswe Kongwa has shaped her career over 17 years across international sectors in the mining, pharmaceuticals and financial sectors shaping internal communications, public relations and supporting leaders and organisations through transformation, culture change, and purpose‑driven storytelling.


Over the years, Reabetswe has partnered with senior leaders, from CEOs and Vice Presidents to General Managers, Directors, and Heads of Department bringing a breadth of knowledge shaped by deep organisational experience. Reabetswe has worked closely with leadership teams to craft strategic communications plans that empowers teams, strengthens collaboration, and fuels the productivity that drives high‑performing cultures.


Reabetswe's work also includes collaborating with leaders to advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping organisations communicate in ways that shapes belonging, elevate diverse voices, and create environments where teams can grow. By blending strategic clarity with a human‑centred approach, Reabetswe ensures business communications is not only informative but inspirational, enabling teams to work better together and deliver meaningful performance results.


With over eight years of communications experience within South Africa's mining sector, Reabetswe has built a career at the intersection of corporate strategy and employee engagement across two of the world's leading mining and metals companies. Starting at BHP Billiton Coal (BECSA) coal mining Khutala Collliery, as an Employee Engagement and Communications Specialist (2008–2013), she developed a strong foundation in internal communications within a complex, multi-site mining environment.


As a Corporate Internal Communications lead she was part of the team at a pivotal moment ahead of the landmark 2015 BHP Billiton/South32 demerger, a transaction that created a new multi billion- dollar global mining and metals company. In this role, she played a key part in launching South32 as a standalone global brand, coordinating closely with the Australian Communications team to deliver values-driven launch events across Southern Africa's mining operations. This involved close collaboration with C-Suite leaders, mining engineers, and Corporate Affairs teams across both Africa and Australia, ensuring a seamless transition for over 9,000 employees and key government stakeholders. This experience sharpened her ability to translate complex corporate change into clear, consistent messaging for diverse audiences, from frontline mining personnel to executive leadership, a skill set she has carried forward into her subsequent communications career.
